This is my former place of employment,  for my first contract in China from September of 2004 until the end of July 2005.  I taught English here for 18 hours a week, three different classes of about forty students per class.      One of my pet projects here was the English Club which I instigated and established  with the help of the other teachers. The first meeting attracted 50 students and was a fun party.  By the time I left the school we were averaging about 20 students every Saturday afternoon.  We also established a small English Club library of youth oriented materials in English -  books,   magazines,  comics, etc..         The English Club gave students a chance to practice their English in an informal social setting.  They could browse the library and sign out material,  join in organized games,  or just visit with teachers and fellow students,  provided they did it in English.
